Attention Realtors

Wouldn’t it be great if people visiting the homes of your clients started asking them who their realtor is?

Here’s how that could work…

I’ve often had strangers see my art at an art show and tell me that one of their friends has a painting of mine in their home.  When people see original art on display in a home; they inquire about it, remember it, and make connections through that artwork.

Realtors have used my artwork for staging and as client gifts.  This can lead to some wonderful opportunities to connect with new clients.  The painting that you give as a gift is a beautiful billboard for you–24/7 soft sell advertising.  People notice original art.  They ask questions.  Conversations begin…  “I like that painting.  Where did you get it?”  “It was a gift from my realtor.”  “Wow.  Who’s your realtor?”  …and then the conversation is all about you–what a wonderful job you did for them, how quickly their old house sold, how you found them the perfect home to purchase, etc.  It’s a conversation that starts because of the gift of that painting–a very positive conversation and one that people remember.

Let’s get those conversations started.                                                                                                               DSCF4837 copy 2

Forty Florals Series minus 38

One floral painting… Two floral paintings… Not yet three floral paintings nor four…

I’m working on a series of floral paintings. As the series title “Forty Florals” suggests, there should be at least two paintings (or forty) in the series when it’s completed. So far there are two. Two waterlily paintings or two water lily paintings (the space between water and lily can be there or not–I checked).

The 40 paintings are to be 36″ x 24″ (vertical) and priced at $395/each + shipping. Or you could make me an offer on purchasing a painting before the series is finished (you have some time to think about that), and I will give you a DEAL. Yes, a DEAL (that’s a “deal” in upper case).

Here are pics of the first two paintings in the “Forty Florals” series:

Poppylarity Contest

When the warm weather arrives I enjoy walking through the local neighbourhoods to admire and photograph the gardens. Poppies are a popular subject to photograph and paint.

Some More California Dreamin’

This is the winter that keeps on giving.   While the cold and snow continues, I’ve been adding paintings of warmer days to my Daily Paintworks gallery.  Here are some more paintings in the “California Dreamin’ ” series which was inspired by a walk along the Los Robles Trail in Thousand Oaks, California.

California Dreamin’

Occasionally there are some pretty good perks to being an artist.  One for me was when I was flown out to California as a guest for the 2nd Anniversary of a bookstore opening…   during FEBRUARY!  While there, I walked along the Los Robles Trail in Thousand Oaks and took a multitude of photos.  These are some paintings in the series, “California Dreamin’ “, which was inspired by that walk along the trail.

Live Music

I love going out to hear live music.  Last night I was at Maxwell’s Music House for a terrific concert by “Frank Deresti and the Lake Effect”.   Frank is a talented singer/songwriter/musician and a really nice guy.    All the guys in the band (there were 6 playing last night as well as Andrew Muncaster, who was the opening act) seemed like really nice guys, and they’re definitely all talented musicians.  They said they had had an Olympic day the previous day–curling (I think) and doing some sort of snowboarding in the wee hours of the morning…  and joked about it being a feat for them to be able to lift their instruments and make it onto the stage after their Olympic day.  The mix of instruments–saxophone, drums, stand up bass, percussion, keyboards, trumpet, fiddle, guitar and banjo–was impressive.  Add to that the vocal harmonies and the clever lyrics of the songs and it was a real treat for a wintery Wednesday night.

If they’re ever in your neck of the woods, I highly recommend attending a show.  They’re from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario; but they do get to Southwestern Ontario now and then.  I’ve seen them twice in K-W in the past year.

Also worth keeping an eye on are the concert listings for Maxwell’s Music House.  It’s a great little venue where they feature first class musicians.  They also host rockstar camps during the summer and March break which are very popular for budding young performers ages 8-13 and 13-16.
